Great news! After three years of persistent activity and effort, this week Restore received formal title to the 30 acres of land we purchased for the larger campus for the Restore Leadership Academy in Northern Uganda. We are now at 240 students and growing like a mango tree!
The war-torn north of Uganda has not been able to issue formal documents like this for over a twenty-year period because the mechanisms for issuing deeds and other formal documents were left in shambles. To get the deed we assisted the civil authorities in forming a land commission, provided training necessary for
clerical actions and then John Niemeyer (pictured to the left) and others worked tirelessly in the capital and in Gulu for the past 3 years to end up with this deed. As far as we can tell, this may well be one of the first deeds granted in this particular district in more than two decades.
Now that the deed is in hand, it’s game on. We start to build immediately. Thank you so much for joining with us in cheering these kids on. They are the future of the Country and our graduates are already taking on important positions in the Country. What we do next might look like buildings, but they are really launching pads.
Best personal regards,
Bob
